Bal-Vihar program is an initiative by the Hindu Temple of Iowa located midway between Ames and Des Moines in Madrid, IA. The program is run by volunteers who care about preserving Indian culture and believe in moral values that are important to living a fulfilling, generous and positive life.

Dr. Palakurthy is a well known Cardiologist in Des Moines, IA. Despite his busy schedule, he finds time to teach kids with moral stories in Bala-Vihar. Dr. Palakurthy and his wife Dr. Uma organize and volunteer in many activities at the temple. They have 3 highly educated and successful kids settled at various places around the USA.
