Bal-Vihar program at the Hindu Temple of Iowa is a Value Based Education program promoting Indian Values and Good Mannerisms in kids from 3 to 17 years. This program is based on the syllabus developed by Chinmaya Mission of Chicago.
The goal of this program is to instill moral values in children to make them individuals who are not just successful in academics, sports or music but also have morality that make their successes in life more fulfilling for them as well as for their family and the society.
We have made many changes to the program this year based on numerous feedbacks.
- 5-minute meditation to promote concentration
- Hindi lessons alternate weeks for Bala-Vihar kids
- Pre-SAT Classes for grade 5 and grade 6 kids
- SAT Classes for kids in grade 7 and above
- Temple Aarti to follow Bal-Vihar in timely manner (except on days when special pooja is going on)

Bala-Vihar Classes are held every Sunday from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Hindu Temple of Iowa. These classes are generally for kids upto grade 4 and consist of stories, interactions, songs, slokas, moral teaching etc. The parents are welcome to sit through the class to observe and appreciate the teachings. |

Pre-SAT Classes for kids in grade 5 and 6. These classes are offered in MATH and cover fundamentals of maths. |

SAT Preparation Classes are held at the same time, same location for senior kids (7 grade and above) by qualified teachers. The SAT Classes are for MATH based on SAT syllabus. |
